The Book

Twelve Years of Womanhood, Told in Songs

These songs were never just songs.

Each one began with a real moment: love found unexpectedly, a child growing away from your arms, the ache of missing home, the weight of motherhood, the silence inside a marriage, the strength it takes to stand up again.

When I began writing the stories behind the songs, I realised they were opening into something bigger.

Each chapter is designed to be read while the music plays. The song carries the feeling first. The story gives it shape. Then the chapter opens into carefully chosen passages from classical literature and timeless wisdom from across cultures and centuries.

A song about bullying meets The Ugly Duckling.
A song about longing for home meets The Odyssey.
A song about maternal sacrifice meets Little Women.

A song about peace, love and enoughness meets Tolstoy and ancient wisdom.

What is emerging is not a traditional album, and not a traditional book.

It is a literary/music experience: fourteen songs, fourteen real stories, and fourteen emotional doorways into the lives we live but rarely know how to name.
