Twelve years of womanhood, told in songs
I’m Krisztina Ustinov.
I first began making music in a small Hungarian village called Tállya, standing on a stool beside a zither table because I was too little to reach it properly.
Music, and a few kind people along the way, have held my hand ever since.
Particles was never planned as an album in the traditional sense. These songs were written across the last twelve years of my life, inspired by real moments: motherhood, marriage, heartbreak, homesickness, resilience, exhaustion, love, fear, peace and starting again.
Some were born in beautiful moments. Some arrived when life felt impossibly heavy.
Over time, I realised the stories inside the songs were connecting naturally to something much bigger: to classical literature, philosophy and timeless wisdom that people have carried across generations and cultures for centuries.
A song about bullying opened into The Ugly Duckling.
A song about longing for home found its reflection in The Odyssey.
A song about maternal sacrifice met Little Women.
Moments of peace, love, grief and resilience suddenly sat beside Tolstoy, Scripture and ancient human wisdom.
That is how Particles slowly became more than music.
What’s emerging is something between an album, a book and a shared human experience, a space where original songs, deeply personal stories, literature and timeless wisdom meet.
The songs, lyrics and stories are entirely human-written and drawn from lived experience.
AI helped me translate the sounds and arrangements I carried in my head into something real. It became an extraordinary creative enabler at a point in life when I would never otherwise have had access to music production at this scale.
For that, I’m deeply grateful.
Particles would not exist without the people who knowingly or unknowingly shaped these years of my life: my family, my friends, my children, and those who stayed beside me through both beautiful and difficult seasons.
I hope that somewhere inside these songs and stories, you find a part of your own life too.
